Powder flow analysers

The Powder Flow Analyser (PFA) is one of many accessories that can be used with a TA.XTplusC texture analyser. A rotor rotates through a container of powder, while a sensitive sensor measures normal force, displacement, and time. Various tests calculate different flow characteristics such as caking behavior, cohesion, compaction, bulk density, bridging, and rate dependency.

Half of all products in industry exist in powder form at some stage, and the PFA can identify and help prevent a wide range of issues with these powders. Even using the texture analyser alone, additional powder characteristics can be measured, including unconfined yield stress, vertical shear strength, and caking after consolidation.
